We sent our dream board to Mastercard.  It came back marked NOT LEGAL TENDER.

We sent American Express our list of goals and good intentions.  They came back marked NOT LEGAL TENDER.

Visa sent back our brilliant business plan and carefully crafted calendar.  Apparently they were NOT LEGAL TENDER.

Our mortgage company returned our enthusiasm and positive attitude as NOT LEGAL TENDER.

We sent the gas company three chapters of Think And Grow Rich, but they came back marked NOT LEGAL TENDER.

The electric company liked the pictures of us having fun and getting that award on the cruise, but sent them back anyway as NOT LEGAL TENDER.

At the grocery store checkout, we started to recite our affirmations and motivating self-talk.  The cashier interrupted to let us know that they were, guess what, NOT LEGAL TENDER.

If this seems tedious and repetitious, stop and think about how much time you spend in activities that do not produce what these people want.

So what do these people want?  Apparently they want MONEY!

Oh no!  Where are we going to find money?  Hey!  How about from our network marketing business?  And what does our business pay us for?  You guessed it – SALES.  And how are we going to make sales?  Gather a few customers and gather a few reps who will gather a few customers.

That’s it.  Your MLM does not pay you for goals or enthusiasm or dreams or plans or awards or attitude.  It pays you for results.  Personal development and planning are necessary, but they do not pay the bills.
