Harry was working away one morning building his house when he realized he needed a heavier hammer.  He headed downtown to see his buddy Hank at the Handy Hardware store …

Hank:  Howdy Harry!  How’s the house coming along?
Harry:  Hi Hank!  I’m making progress but it’s slow.  And it’s costing me more than I expected.
Hank:  You could make some extra money by selling hammers with me.  Your hammer selling license will cost you a bit but if you sell three hammers, yours will be free!”
Harry:  That sounds like a good deal.  Here’s the money for my licence and the hammers.
Hank:  And here are your four hammers, one for you and three to sell.  Good luck!

Harry headed back to his house, but decided to walk rather than drive, so he could meet more people who might want a hammer.  On his way, he met his friend Advertising Alice …

Alice:  Hi Harry!  I see you’re selling Hank’s hammers.  How’s it going?
Harry:  Not well, but I just started this morning, and I don’t have much time because I have to get back and build my house.
Alice:  I can help.  If you buy my advertising package, the hammers will almost sell themselves.  And you can make some extra money if you sell some advertising too!  If you sell three ad packages, your ads will be free.
Harry:  That sounds like a good deal.  Here’s my money.

Harry decided to take the long way home so he could meet more people who might want a hammer or some advertising.  When he dropped into the diner for some late lunch, he met his buddy List Makin’ Larry …

Larry:  How’s it going, Harry?  I see you have some of Alice’s advertising.  Made any sales?
Harry:  Not yet, I’ve been walking around all day and haven’t met anyone who needs advertising.
